Who is Breaking Borders?

Breaking Borders (BB) is a short-term mission sending agency.

Breaking Borders specializes in mobilizing Christ-centered college students, medical students, professionals, and any sold-out "10/40" window junkie who can't get enough of being used by God in the most unreached areas of the world.

The Passion and Vision of BB is to Glorify God in mobilizing Christ-centered Believers to the most unreached and restricted areas of the world to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Afghanistan

Since Breaking Borders has began working in Afghanistan we have been heart broken by the many people who have attacked our efforts in this nation. Many feel it is wrong because of the political divide of our troops being there; others have ridiculed us saying it is wrong to go to such a dangerous nation, still, others have expressed that they feel the Afghan people are getting what they deserve. Oh, how this grieves our heart and only challenges us to move forward more strongly! Is Afghanistan dangerous? Yes, but Jesus never called us to "safe" nations, nor to secure our lives in this world. Should the Afghan people get what they deserve? May God have mercy on them, as He has so freely on us. Our sin has separated us from the righteousness of God just the same as theirs. Freely we have received, freely we shall give!

Orphanage

The James 1:27 Commission

"External religious worship (religion as it is expressed in outward acts) that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world" Amplified Bible (AMP)

As of September 2011 Breaking Borders has partnered with New Life International Ministry in Nigeria and will be working together to establish an Orphanage in 2012. We are collecting funds now for the land purchase & building materials so that by the end of 2012 an orphanage will be in place in partnership witn NLI local church. We are excited about this opportunity to be a refuge for the forgotten in the mist of a dark nation. The last mission to Afghanistan left our hearts more convicted and convinced the next point of ministry in this nation must be to the 2 million orphans. Breaking Borders has had the privilege to serve over 200 orphans in the last two years while working in AFghanistan, but simply serving them is not enough. We feel it is our Christian responsibility to be a part of caring for them in the same way we care for our own children. The Afghan government will not allow adoption out of the country, but the shortage of orphanages are overwhelming.

1 in 4 Afghan babies die before age five.
1 in 10 Afghan children are malnourished.
400,000 orphans are maimed from land minds.
600,000 children sleep on the streets every night.
Many of these orphans that sleep on the street are under the age of 5.
Many rely on other older orphans to care for them and protect them.
